Phoebe Kalm Choi (b.2001 Seoul, South Korea) is a New York-based painter whose work explores the emotional textures of growing up and the longing to return to one’s child self. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Painting and Drawing at Pratt Institute.
Choi’s practice combines eccentric forms with vibrant, contrasting colors to express joy as something both energetic and tender. Her compositions are built through intuitive layering, playful abstraction, and a tactile sense of care, often channeling the immediacy and physicality of children’s art. Through her exploration of color and form, she invites viewers into a visual world where memory, movement, and emotion coexist freely.
